Where I come from and where I’m going
Migration and curriculum researcher
I see curriculum everywhere and so the world is my research playground. I am especially passionate about issues related to immigration, identity and belonging and in using research to build tools for a better tomorrow. I have recently done research and work around the educational experiences of immigrant families living in Finland, multicultural education, cultural belonging and identity and culturally responsive teaching. My journey to these topics has been through a desire to improve education, a journey I began during my masters in education as a Fulbright Scholar in the University of Turku after three years of teaching in low income schools in India and the US.
My journey has now taken me to interdisciplinary projects with the realization that through working with people in other fields we can bridge research and practice more effectively. I am excited to see where this new direction takes me You can learn more about my work at the link below.
